Some of you might be wondering why the project is not progressing at all,
or rather at a kinda sluggish pace,
well in fact, I'm just a single dude working on everything,
so if you are courageous enough to follow the development of this project,
you gotta be very patient.
If there are any talented people out there who can model, animate (characters), texture or coders familiar with Unity (C# / UnityScript),
who want to help out, don't hesitate to contact me,
and I'd be glad if you could show me some of your work.
I would be really pleased to hear from you soon.
Any help appreciated. :)
What's your goal for this project? Is it basically a clone of Animal Crossing 3DS?
ReplyDeleteYou might consider posting on animalcrossingcommunity.com for help. Though a couple of years ago someone started an Animal Crossing fan game there and it died after a few months.
Remember the opening train scene from Animal Crossing for the Gamecube? Right now I'm dipping my toes in 3d game development by recreating that scene in the Blender game engine.
I have a fair amount of technical knowledge of Blender, but not a whole lot of experience. Depending on where you want to take this project, I might be able to offer my help after I finish my little "game".
Hello Kevin.
ReplyDeleteWell, personally, I wouldn't necessarily describe it as a mere clone,
I do intend to bring in new features and game-play,
but sure I wish to, at least visually,
reproduce the new upcoming 3DS game in every way possible.
I see, well I think you'll need something solid to show off to attract other developers,
so unless you have at least a working demo,
you'll have a hard time convincing other people to join you.
Well, thanks for the advise, maybe I'll make a post there, when I can show a little demo.
Yep, the one with Rover the cat?
Well good luck with that scene, and don't forget to post a pic when your done. :)
Blender is awesome for modeling and animation,
and BGE is just as great I imagine,
but I recommend you using Unity if you haven't already,
It's superb easy to use,
its got a great documentation, and a great community,
and the standard version is even free.
Well, sure, I'd be glad if you join the project,
as I said in the first blog entry,
it's not meant to go commercial, or even replace the original series,
it's meant for the AC community to experiment with new ideas,
and maybe inspire Nintendo to incorporate some of them in the original series. :)
